The HP LaserJet P2035 and P2055 use HP 05 black toner. It comes in two versions: the standard 05A (CE505A), rated at 2,300 pages, and the high-yield 05X (CE505X), rated at 6,500 pages.

HP lists the high-yield 05X for the P2055 series. For a P2035 or P2035n, the 05A is the cartridge to order.

Which one?
Divide each price by its page yield. The 05A is $25.93 ÷ 2,300, about 1.13 cents a page. The 05X is $26.75 ÷ 6,500, about 0.41 cents a page.
The 05X costs 82 cents more at checkout but prints 4,200 more pages, so on a P2055 it is the better buy unless the printer barely gets used. On a P2035 or P2035n, order the 05A.
Check the label
Read the label on the cartridge already in the printer. 05A is not 90A (CE390A) or 48A (CF248A).
