hp 64a vs 64x — same black LaserJet toner for the same printers. The only real difference is page yield (and cost per page).
64A (CC364A) is the standard-yield black — about 10,000 pages. Buy this when you print lightly.
64X (CC364X) is the high-yield black — about 24,000 pages. Same fit. Fewer swaps. Better cost per page if the printer runs often.
| Feature | 64A | 64X |
|---|---|---|
| Black yield | ~10,000 (CC364A) | ~24,000 (CC364X) |
| Best for | Light / occasional | Regular office use |
| Printers | LaserJet P4014; P4015; P4515 | |
Mono black only — there is no 64 color pack. Not 55A/55X or 51A/51X. Read the label on the cartridge already in the printer.
We sell a compatible 64A black (CC364A) and a compatible 64X high-yield black (CC364X), chips installed.
When to buy which: replace toner more than a couple of times a year → start with 64X (about 2.4× the pages). Occasional printing → 64A is enough. If the label says 64X, stay on X unless you intentionally want fewer pages per cartridge.
FAQ
What is hp 64a vs 64x in one sentence?
Same P4014 / P4015 / P4515 printers; 64A is standard yield (~10,000), 64X is high yield (~24,000).
Are 64A and 64X for the same printers?
Yes. Same family. Only the yield changes.
Is there a 64 4-pack?
No. These are single black cartridges only.
Does compatible toner void the printer warranty?
Using a non-HP cartridge does not by itself void HP’s limited printer warranty. Damage HP attributes to a non-HP cartridge is a different question.
HP+ / Instant Ink?
Those programs do not accept compatible toner. If you are not sure the printer was never enrolled, ask before you order.
