The difference is how much you print. 210A is standard yield. 210X is high yield. Same toner, same printers, more pages in the X. Compatible cartridges cut the OEM price. On these models you should also turn off firmware updates so third-party chips keep working.
HP 210A vs 210X: The Key Differences
The 210A and 210X are the same toner series for HP's Color LaserJet Pro 4201 and 4301 printers. The toner is the same. The X cartridge holds more of it.
HP uses A for standard yield and X for high yield. A costs less up front. X lasts longer and usually costs less per page if you print often.

The 210X black cartridge prints more than three times as many pages as the 210A. If you replace toner more than a couple of times a year, the X usually wins on cost per page.

Cost Per Page: Why Compatible Toner Changes the Equation
Yield is one lever. OEM vs compatible is the bigger one. Compatible 210A and 210X cartridges are built to the same page-yield spec as the HP numbers above, at a much lower price than OEM.
Using a non-HP cartridge does not by itself void HP's limited printer warranty. Damage HP attributes to a non-HP cartridge is a different question. Read the warranty on your exact model if you want the fine print.
Turn Off Updates on 4201 and 4301 Printers
